The NetAcquire Windows Toolkit offers convenient integration of NetAcquire systems with both Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Windows programming languages.

Whether or not you are a programmer, the NetAcquire Windows Toolkit provides a selection of tools for reading NetAcquire data and more. NetAcquire dynamic link libraries for Windows (DLLs), make NetAcquire data available to any application or programming language that can make DLL calls. The NetAcquire Windows Toolkit software handles all the low-level details of network communication.

The NetAcquire client/server model allows time-critical code to run on the NetAcquire server while user interface code runs on the Windows machine. This combines real-time, robust operation with the ease-of-use of Windows applications.

With no client run-time license charges, NetAcquire Windows Toolkit DLLs inexpensively run on any number of Windows machines on a network.

Windows Application Support

The NetAcquire Windows Toolkit has built-in support for several common Windows data analysis applications, in addition to supporting other third-party Windows applications that can call DLLs:

  • update cells of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet dynamically
  • develop NetAcquire virtual instruments in National Instruments LabVIEW
  • process and display data from National Instruments DASYLab
  • perform additional data analysis with MathWorks MATLAB
  • send data to an SQL database.

The NetAcquire Windows Toolkit includes complete examples of creating Windows applications in only minutes that perform real-time data display and processing.

Windows Programming Language Support

The NetAcquire Windows Toolkit makes developing Windows applications easy by handling all the details of the networking and I/O interfacing. In fact, complete distributed NetAcquire applications can be created with just a few lines of  source code.

Microsoft Visual C, Visual C++, Visual Basic, and Visual Basic for Applications are all supported, in addition to other Windows programming languages that can make DLL calls. Applications can take advantage of rapid graphical application development using ActiveX and MFC components for data display, graphing, and disk logging.

Two programming interfaces are available for maximum flexibility: a streaming data interface and a measurement-based publish/subscribe interface (see example code in C++, C, and Visual BASIC). The NetAcquire Windows Toolkit includes complete programming examples for these and other applications.
